Introduction

A teacher training session was organized at our school in collaboration with Macmillan Education. The session was conducted by Mrs. Shobha Murthy, an experienced resource person, and focused on enhancing teachers’ understanding of current educational policies and effective teaching strategies.

Session Details

1. Warm-up Activity

The session began at 10:15 a.m. with an engaging warm-up activity for all teachers, setting a positive and interactive tone for the training.

2. Overview of NEP 2020 and NCF 2023

Mrs. Shobha Murthy introduced the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023. She explained their significance and implications for classroom teaching and learning.

3. 21st Century Skills

The resource person emphasized the importance of 21st-century skills for teachers and students, highlighting the need to incorporate these skills into daily teaching practices.

4. The 4Cs of Learning Skills

Mrs. Murthy discussed the 4Cs—Critical Thinking, Communication, Collaboration, and Creativity. She also conducted an interactive activity, allowing teachers to experience these skills in practice.

5. Tea Break

A tea break was given from 11:26 a.m. to 11:40 a.m., providing teachers a short refreshment pause.

6. Experiential Learning

The session resumed with a segment on experiential learning, focusing on the concept of "learning from experience." Teachers were encouraged to adopt hands-on approaches in their classrooms.

7. Curriculum Goals and ‘Dominos’ Activity

Mrs. Murthy explained how to set clear curriculum goals. She also introduced a "Dominos" activity to illustrate the interconnectedness of curriculum components.

8. Teaching Plan

The session covered the essentials of preparing an effective teaching plan, with practical tips and examples.

Doubt Clarification and E-Book Content

At around 12:15 p.m., a subject-wise doubt clarification session was held. Teachers had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts, including queries related to e-book content.

The training session concluded at 1:00 p.m. It was an enriching experience for all the teachers, providing valuable insights and practical strategies to enhance classroom teaching in line with the latest educational policies.
